Valerie June Announces New Album, Shares New Single ‘Call Me A Fool’

This March, Valerie June will release her long-awaited follow-up to 2017’s The Order of Time. The new set, The Moon and Stars: Prescriptions for Dreamers, is out March 12 via Fantasy Recordings. 

The LP, co-produced by June, will feature production assistance from Jack Splash. The Grammy-winning producer has contributed his masterful work to artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Alicia Keys, Jazmine Sullivan, Musiq Soulchild, Solange, and many more. 

The praised roots-soul artist celebrates the album announcement with the debut of a new single, “Call Me A Fool” featuring Carla Thomas, and its accompanying visual. Like a magnet, June’s distinct vocal accent deftly attracts the folksy instrumentation while the wide-eyed lyricism responds to her gullible heart. 

Aside from the new single “Call Me A Fool,” The Moon and Stars: Prescriptions for Dreamers will also include the 3-song suite “Stay” / “Stay Meditation” / “You And I.”
