Taylor Swift experienced a brief stage malfunction while performing at Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field Saturday night (July 14), and the pop star handled the situation like a true pro.
While performing her recent hit “Delicate,” Swift got stuck mid-air in a sparkly basket that was supposed to carry her across the stadium. Midway through the song, the singer admitted to the crowd, “I'm pretty sure I'm stuck up here. It's a nice view, though.”
After finishing the song, Swift candidly explained the technical difficulties to the audience.
“So what you just saw was me going like straight up and down in this sparkly basket. It's supposed to take me to the other side of the stadium,” she said. “So what happens now is basically I'm just chilling waiting to figure out what happens next.”
To help kill time while stage hands worked to fix the problem, Swift bantered with the audience and then broke into an a capella crowd sing-along of her 2007 track “Our Song.” She eventually got into a new basket and continued the show.
