Adding to the increasingly long list musical farewells this year are now St Cell. The classic synth-pop duo Marc Almond and Dave Ball are reuniting for a final show called “Say Hello, Wave Goodbye.”
The duo made the announcement today, revealing that their last-ever show will take place on September 30 at the O2 in London.
“With St Cell I always felt something was unfinished,” Almond said in a statement. “This last ever final show will be the best ever ending. It will be a real statement and send-f, and thank you to every fan.”
This will mark St Cell’s first performance together since 2004 — and their last — and will be in celebration their 40th anniversary.
In addition to the farewell show, St Cell also have plans for a box set release later this year.
Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. local time if you are in that part the world or itching to burn some air miles.
St Cell are, course, best known for their timeless cover “Tainted Love,” not to mention “Sex Dwarf” and basically all their classic 1981 album Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret.
