Safaree Samuels is celebrating getting his first royalty check for some old Nicki Minaj songs.
If you’ve been familiar with Safaree Samuels and Nicki Minaj fallout, then you would’ve known that one his main contentions was that he was never compensated for his work done on her previous albums. Safaree was named executive producer on her second album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, and A&R for her debut album Pink Friday. He even sued Nicki once but eventually dropped the suit after she complained that he is trying to shake her down.
Safaree posted a photo the statement he received for a total $2,342.33. The payment is for royalties for Nicki Minaj old songs “Did It On Em” and “Roman’s Revenge.” “What the hell I just get this random music business check from?” he wrote. “55 years later what da hell happy birthday to me… Never give up.”
By the way, tomorrow, July 4th, is Safaree’s birthday so with this check he can sure treat himself to a nice birthday meal. Not that he needed it, but it’s his hard work, so it’s well deserving. These days the Love and Hip Hop star is busy recording music for his upcoming mixtape and performing some hosting duties.
