Lil Wayne "Tha Carter V" Billboard Revealed To Be Fake

Weezy F Baby and the F is for… False Alarm. After fans were going crazy with speculation that the release Tha Carter V could be imminent because a billboard that popped up to promote the project, all our hopes were quickly shut down. A viral post on Twitter showed what appeared to be a billboard set up by Lil Wayne and his team to build anticipation for the fifth installment in his Carter series. While it’s likely arriving before the end the year since he’s no longer being held back by Cash Money, the album’s promotional campaign has not yet started, unfortunately.

Tunechi fans jumped out their seats when they saw the billboard online, which read, “The F is for Five” with the V emphasized as a roman numeral. Although it appeared to be legit, one internet user was quick to point out that they had already seen the exact background from the image being circulated. The Los Angeles billboard actually dates from 2016 from a Postmates advertising campaign, which obviously has nothing to with Lil Wayne. Somebody simply decided to get slick with Photoshop and fool us all into thinking Carter V was coming soon. Although the project may still arrive in the coming weeks or months, its promotion has not begun.

The rapper’s team has not commented on the false advertisements as yet. Weezy recently told fans that he had a meeting about the potential release date for Tha Carter V. Whether or not he goes all out with billboards, the album is still very likely going to be one the highest-selling ones the year.
