LeBron James has informed the Cleveland Cavaliers his decision to opt out the final year his contact, making him an unrestricted free agent starting July 1. The 4x NBA MVP can still return to the Cavs on a five-year $207.4 million deal or go elsewhere, such as Los Angeles.
According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, LeBron intends to make his announcement before the 4th July holiday. Appearing on The Lowe Post podcast last week (H/T Bleacher Report), Windhorst said, “Everybody will be on holiday on July 4. It will be over by then.”
That gives LeBron a few more days to make his decision, and he’s reportedly mulling things over in the British West Indies at a stunning luxury beach house, aka “The Decision Cave.” According to TMZ Sports, the breath taking Anguilla Beach House on Meads Bay costs $75,000 per week.
The villa, which sits on one acre beach front property, features eight master bedrooms, a full-time chef, butler, 44-foot infinity pool, home theater, full gym, and 10 bathrooms – some which fer both indoor and outdoor showers.
While LeBron weighs his options in the Decision Cave, Brian Windhorst noted today that the 33-year old All-Star is “pretty focused on Los Angeles or Cleveland” and has turned down fers to meet with some other NBA teams, according to Bleacher Report’s Ryan Cole.
