Kevin Durant is in the final season of his three-year contract with the Golden State Warriors which means he will be among the biggest free agents this summer. So far, most of the rumors out there have Durant leaving the Warriors and joining the New York Knicks where he will be able to pursue some ventures outside of basketball. Of course, we will only know of Durant’s decision once it happens, although it’s safe to say that the speculation will continue all the way up until the free agent period.
Newsday’s Steve Popper published a report recently which added even more fuel to the Durant fire. According to Popper, Durant has had enough of head coach Steve Kerr and his “prodding.” The two are no longer getting along which has Durant wanting to get out of dodge as soon as possible. The report also states that the Warriors are still Curry’s team and that Durant wants to make something his own.
As of right now, Durant is out with a right calf injury which hasn’t affected the Warriors as they are up 3-0 on the Portland Trail Blazers in the Western Conference Finals. It is unclear as to when Durant will be able to return to action.
