Although it’s been a decade since Keri Hilson released solo music, the singer-songwriter has kept herself focused on her acting career. Her latest gig is a lead role in the upcoming TV One original film, Don’t Waste Your Pretty. It will premiere on Sunday, February 28 at 8 p.m. ET.

The Tamara Bass-directed movie, which is based on the novel written by Demetria L. Lucas, follows a close group of friends as they each deal with juggle life’s issues with their love lives. Hilson plays Mykah, who is a workaholic that is finally ready to start looking for love in various places: speed dates, dating apps and the good ole nightlife.

Meanwhile, her friend Jeaneé (played by Deborah Joy Winans) is a recent divorcée who eventually finds a potential love interest — Mykah’s twin brother Michael (played by Redaric Williams). You’ll have to watch the film to see how the story unfolds.

The cast of Don’t Waste Your Pretty also includes Jasmine Burke (Saints & Sinners), Kaye Singleton (American Soul) and Rainey Branch (Being Mary Jane).

Hilson recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of her sophomore album, No Boys Allowed, which included her empowering anthem “Pretty Girl Rock.” Rated R&B revisited the album to highlight the five best songs. The LP was also listed among Rated R&B’s 50 Best R&B Albums of the 2010s.
