Jamie Foxx is a man of many talents, and nailing celebrity impressions is definitely one of them. Last month, the singer/actor took part in an interview with WBNA’s Candace Parker over Instagram live, and a portion of their live session is now making its rounds due to how well Jamie was able to impersonate the likes of Jay-Z, Mike Tyson, Kermit The Frog, and more. At the beginning of the viral clip, Candace asks Jamie how he manages to perfect his impressions. “You do it from music, right?” she asks. “Because you learn the octaves of music?”

“Yeah, you learn the tone first,” he indicates, before explaining that, surprisingly, his Jay-Z, Sammy Davis Jr., and Kermit the Frog impressions all stem from the same place. He then dives right into all three of these impressions with ease.
“So that’s the same thing,” he continues, “you do a certain thing with your throat.” He continues on with two different impressions of Dave Chappelle, contrasting the comedian’s cadence from when he was young to how he sounds now. Jamie polishes off his impressions by nailing Mike Tyson, whom he’s spoken about potentially portraying in a biopic one day.
One user even attached a video of Jamie showcasing his impression of the boxer during an interview in 2015, while he was describing how his Tyson biopic would open. We really hope this film eventually sees the light of day.
