Is New Lorde Music Coming Soon?

Could new music from Lorde be coming soon? On Sunday (Jan. 26), synth-pop artist Porches (aka Aaron Maine) took to social media to share a snippet of an unreleased song that appears to feature the New Zealand pop sensation.

Captured by a fan account, the Instagram Story appears to have been taken in a recording studio and features vocals delivered in the pop star's distinctive timbre, who's also tagged in the clip. "I like the thought you think of me/ It's softer as I start to see," Lorde croons over drawn-out piano before a danceable beat kicks in. (The snippet seems to be a new version of Porches' 2018 track "Goodbye," now with Lorde vocals.)

The unconfirmed track would be the star's first new music since the release of her 2017 sophomore album, Melodrama, which debuted at No. 1 on the Streets Talkin 200 and was nominated for album of the year at the 2018 Grammy Awards.
