DJ Khaled was one the last persons that Nipsey Hussle worked with before his death.
DJ Khaled was so moved by Nipsey Hussle that he is donating all the prits from his “Higher” video to the late rapper’s kids. The We The Best Music Group chief and the Crenshaw rapper link up just days before he was shot and killed to record the new single and shoot the music video.
According to Khaled, he spoke with Nipsey Hussle family about his wishes, and they gave him their blessing to go ahead and donate all proceeds from the single to the rapper’s kids. Nipsey has a 10-year-old daughter and a 3-year-old baby boy with Lauren London.
“Recently, I embarked on a soul-searching journey down a road I never thought I would travel in a million years,” Khaled wrote. “It began when a tragedy robbed the world an enlightened soul, a brother, a father, a partner and my friend, Nipsey Hussle.”
A gift from my brother Nipsey that we want to share with the world. We miss you and we will forever keep your legacy going. The Marathon Continues. ??

John Legend is also featured on the track. On March 31, the same day that Nipsey Hussle was shot dead in front his The Marathon Clothing store, John Legend revealed that they shot the music in Inglewood just days before.
“Proud to be a part this inspiring record with DJ Khaled and @nipseyhussle. We lost him too soon. The proceeds will go to his loved ones,” Legend tweeted.

RIP Nipsey. I just spent Thursday with him filming a video for a beautiful new song we created with Khaled. We filmed in Inglewood, close to where he grew up. He was so gifted, so proud his home, so invested in his community. Utterly stunned that he's gone so soon.
