A South Carolina girl has misplaced $160,000 in a Twitter rip-off involving somebody posing as a rustic music star.
The sufferer’s sister instructed Rock Hill police on Tuesday that she thought she had been sending cashier’s checks and reward playing cards to Dierks Bentley for round two years.
Capt. Mark Bollinger tells The Herald of Rock Hill it seems as if somebody posed as Bentley on social media. According to the incident report, the sufferer met the suspect on Twitter and exchanged textual content messages.
Rock Hill police took the report, however mentioned federal authorities must examine the case.
