Charlotte OC's 'Freedom': Exclusive | Streets Talkin

U.K. pop upstart Charlotte OC has debuted her new single “Freedom,” premiering exclusively with Streets Talkinon Wednesday (Feb. 26).

The track finds the singer-songwriter hurtling towardher titular freedom as she floats through the blackness of the unknown over churning synths, drums and howling production. “There’s freedom in the falling/ Hanging in the air, nowhere but down/ Freedom in the falling/ When you hit the ground, you figure it out/ Holdingon to nothing but the hope, the hope to be found/ There’s freedom in the falling,” she declares on the chorus.

“‘Freedom’ was such an amazing song to write,” Charlotte OC tells Streets Talkin. “I wrote this song for myselfand others who feel like they’re lost, and that it’s totally ok to be lost. It’s all part of the process of growing up and it’s also the moment when you findyourselfentering something great. It’s one of my favorite songs — if not my favorite — on the EP because after Iwrote it, Ifelt like Iwas slowly coming into my own and really finding out who Iam.”

The trackprecedes the pop artist’s forthcoming EP, Oh The Agony, Oh The Ecstasy, and follows her 2019 single “This Pain.” The EP is set to be released later this spring Psycho John Records.
