Charlie Puth gears up for his sophomore album VoiceNotes with the video for “Done for Me,” his duet with Kehlani.
Directed by RJ Sanchez and Brendan Vaughn, the sensual visual features stylistic references to the ’80s. The pop heartthrob sings about his devotion to his lady in front a mirror, while Kehlani takes her girl into a bubble bath.
“I lie for you, baby,” sings Puth. “I die for you, baby / Cry for you, baby / But tell me what you’ve done for me.” Lani adds: “I won’t beg for your love, won’t say please / I won’t fall to the ground on my knees.”
Last month, Charlie opened up about the collaboration with Baelani. “You know when you meet somebody and you just know that you’re going to be friends with them for a really, really long time?” he said. “That was her when I met her. She’s just such a warm and outgoing person and just such a good distinct voice.”
This is just the latest single from Charlie’s highly-anticipated album VoiceNotes, which will also feature “Attention,” “How Long,” the Boyz II Men duet “If You Leave Me Now,” “Patient,” and “Change” featuring James Taylor.
VoiceNotes is due May 11.
