Balsam Range Takes Top Prize at International Bluegrass Music Awards

Balsam Range, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Joe Mullins & the Radio Ramblers and veteran songwriter Jerry Salley have been among the many prime honorees final night time (Sept. 27) on the 29th Annual International Bluegrass Music Awards. Hosted by Hot Rize, the present was held on the Duke Energy Performing Arts Center in Raleigh, NC.

North Carolina natives Balsam Range gained entertainer of the 12 months and the group’s lead singer, Buddy Melton, claimed his second win within the male vocalist class. Longtime favorites Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver gained their eighth award for vocal group of the 12 months. Joe Mullins &  the Radio Ramblers took house track of the 12 months honors for “If I’d have Wrote That Song,” penned by Larry Cordle, Larry Shell and James Silver. This 12 months’s songwriter of the 12 months honor went to Jerry Salley.

Brooke Aldridge collected her second consecutive win within the feminine vocalist class. Special Consensus gained album of the 12 months for the primary time for Rivers & Roads, produced by Alison Brown. The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys have been named rising artist of the 12 months.
