?Members Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet, the Good Family and Adaptor 45 Announce Debut Album as Long Branch

We first met Long Branch back in 2016 with “Lucky Me,” and now the Toronto alt-country collective have announced plans for their debut LP. Titled Found the Setting Sun, it’s due out on May 25.

The band brings together a number music vets, including Lisa Myers and Laura Pitkanen Adaptor 45, D’Arcy Good the Good Family, Don Pyle Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet, and Sally Lee Venus Cures All (and Myers’ all-girl punk group Chicken Milk).

After crossing paths at various times and places over the decades from seeing each other play to rallying together to fight “evil” landlords in Parkdale the group are finally set to unveil their first full-length.

Before it arrives in its entirety, Exclaim! is giving you an exclusive first listen to lead single and album opener “Lilacs.”

“I tend to write hardship and loss but in the end there is light and hope in my songs,” Pitkanen tells Exclaim! “In the song ‘Lilacs,’ I acknowledge that we carry the shadows our past, and that this is necessary for being able to live in a good way. ‘Lilacs’ is ultimately a love song from which there is no turning back. In ourselves and in each other, we found the setting sun.”
